A bit about me

I studied painting at La Massana School of Art in Barcelona, where I lived for eight years, and I set up my studio in Norwich when I returned to the city in 1999. As a partner at the Jade Tree shop and artists’ co-operative in Elm Hill, I manage a studio complex, and showcase and sell the work of over 60 local artists and makers.

Connect 3 is a recently formed collective formed with writer Letitia Austen and photographer Marit Ohrvik in 2018. Our work links themes of place, friendship and shared experiences and will be exhibited together in 2019.

"Abstract and Linear  paintings are deconstructed, re-assembled and overpainted, I enjoy the reconstruction technique involved in making these large-scale linear paintings and the multi-layered, collaged, quality of the finished work".

Painted in oil on card, the abstract series is a response to place, climate and perspective.

My doodles are a lighthearted, quirky mirror on my life. I've used ink, caran d'ache crayon, biro and watercolours. Each doodle captures a moment of humour, empathy or friendship and hopefully they will bring a smile of recognition to your face.

The series of paintings 'Closer' focuses on familiar and favourite trees: ones that I see as I ride to work and about the city, and those that recall and evoke my childhood, on Mousehold Heath and up in north Norfolk.

My work has been exhibited at the Grapevine Gallery Norwich, Buckenham Gallery Southwold, Cork Brick Gallery Bungay, The Last Gallery Zurich, Appleyard Gallery Holt,  Byard Art Cambridge and The Eastern Open. I exhibit annually at the Norfolk and Norwich Open Studios.

I regularly undertake commissioned work.
